The City Council is set to convene on Wednesday evening for its regular legislative session, which will feature a briefing on the latest real estate assessments in the city. The session is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. in the chambers located on the eighth floor of City Hall at 22 Lincoln St. Prior to this, a spotlight ceremony recognizing members of the Alternatives World Changers Youth Leadership Team will take place at 6 p.m.

During the legislative session, an assessor will present information on the city's real estate assessments. These assessments are crucial as they form the basis for determining real estate taxes for Fiscal Year 2026 and will significantly influence the development of the upcoming city budget.

The day's proceedings will commence with a special meeting at 8:30 a.m. in the library of the Virginia Air & Space Science Center. This meeting includes a closed session focused on appointments that require council member assignments. There will be no work session in the afternoon.

Members of the public are welcome to attend any of these meetings. Additionally, both sessions on Wednesday evening will be broadcast live on Cox channel 47 and Verizon channel 22, as well as streamed online at hampton.gov/livetv.
