Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) is making several changes to its services in Portsmouth starting in May 2025. Route 41 will see an extension from Victory Crossing to the Portsmouth City Jail on Elmhurst Lane, operating during visiting hours from Monday through Friday, approximately between 4:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., following a request from the City of Portsmouth.

Route 45 will undergo run time and schedule adjustments. Meanwhile, Route 47 will change its first inbound trip to start at 5:39 AM on weekdays. This adjustment aims to improve connections with Route 45 at Crawford/County Streets at 6:30 AM, in addition to other run time modifications.

For the ferry, Route 90 will adopt its summer schedule.
