The Great Food Truck Race, a popular culinary televised competition from the Food Network, is set to visit Newport News, Virginia. The event features a diverse selection of food trucks competing in various challenges, showcasing cuisine from across the United States.

Mayor Phillip Jones expressed enthusiasm about hosting the event, stating, "We’re excited to welcome The Great Food Truck Race to Newport News and offer our community the chance to experience the thrill of this culinary competition. This event highlights the creativity and talent of food truck chefs, while also celebrating our city’s vibrant food culture."

The event will take place over two days, first at Port Warwick on Monday, April 7, and then at Victory Landing Park on Tuesday, April 8. Both locations will be open to visitors from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., giving them an opportunity to enjoy the food and experience the excitement of the competition. The event is free to attend, though food samples will be available for purchase from the various food trucks.
