The City Council is set to convene on Wednesday, where the agenda will feature a preview of the city manager’s annual I Value program. This initiative allows residents to contribute their input on the city's budget priorities.
The work session is scheduled for 1 p.m., followed by the legislative session at 6:30 p.m. A ceremonial session recognizing members of the Alternatives World Changers Youth Leadership Team will precede the legislative meeting at 6 p.m. All meetings will take place in chambers on the eighth floor of City Hall, located at 22 Lincoln St.
During the afternoon work session, there will be a preview of this year’s I Value campaign. The campaign includes virtual events in March and in-person events in April, providing residents with opportunities to offer feedback on the Fiscal Year 2026 budget, which begins July 1. Additionally, recommendations from the Hampton Electoral Board regarding changes in precincts and polling places will be discussed.
In the evening legislative session, a public hearing on the city’s 2025-29 Consolidated Plan and Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Planning Process is scheduled. Other public hearings include discussions on a use permit for a restaurant on Lincoln Street and authorization of transfers and grants related to a Virginia Department of Transportation project near River Street Park.
