The Hampton Roads Planning District Commission (HRPDC) is set to host a webinar on the region's inaugural Climate Action Plan. This initiative is supported by a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The plan aims to implement environmental strategies to curb greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate climate change effects in the area.

Scheduled for January 22, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., the webinar will be conducted virtually via Zoom. It will include a presentation by HRPDC staff and a Q&A session. Participants can learn about the HRPDC's role, potential components of the Climate Action Plan, and ways for community involvement. Registration is mandatory and can be completed at http://bit.ly/3VBV72C.

Following the webinar, a community survey will be launched to collect feedback that will guide the development of initiatives within the Climate Action Plan. Residents are encouraged to participate by completing a brief survey available at www.hrpdcva.gov/climate until February 24, 2025.

For further details about HRPDC’s Climate Action Plan, visit their website at www.hrpdcva.gov/climate.
