The Elizabeth River Crossings (ERC) facilities have announced a series of lane closures scheduled from January 3 to January 10, contingent on weather conditions. These closures are part of regular maintenance and updates, with dates subject to change. Updates can be found on Twitter via @DriveERT.
For the Midtown Tunnel, there will be alternating lane closures westbound on Monday, January 6, from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next day. Similarly, eastbound lanes will experience closures on Tuesday, January 7, during the same hours.
In the Downtown Tunnel, I-264 East will see alternating lane closures on Wednesday, January 8 and Thursday, January 9, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) advises motorists to “Know Before You Go” by planning their trips using available free tools such as downloading the 511 smartphone app or visiting the 511 Virginia website for traffic information.
