Hampton has been acknowledged once again for its commitment to digital innovation, securing a place among the nation's leading digital cities. The city was named a Digital Cities Award winner by the Center for Digital Government for the 22nd time, ranking 10th in the category of cities with populations between 125,000 and 249,999.
This accolade underscores Hampton's dedication to engaging its residents through various initiatives. A significant development is the city's new virtual city hall, which is integrated with its 311 system and powered by CHAMP (Choose Hampton), a virtual assistant. This system enables residents to select their preferred communication method—whether via chat, text, or the city's mobile app. Additionally, generative AI has been introduced to streamline service requests, enhancing both responsiveness and efficiency.
Hampton has also revamped its website to provide timely updates on community events, city services, and initiatives, further strengthening communication with its residents.
