On December 7, 2024, the City of Hampton will host the annual Hampton Holly Days Parade in Downtown Hampton at 5 p.m. This event will lead to several road closures starting from approximately 3 p.m. and lasting until about 9 p.m. Attendees and residents should anticipate congestion and changes in traffic patterns during this time.

The specific roads affected include Settlers Landing Road between Bridge and Wine Street, which will close at 3:00 p.m., as well as Eaton Street between Settlers Landing Road and Lincoln Street where southbound lanes will be closed but northbound lanes remain open. Franklin Street between West Pembroke Avenue and Lincoln Street, Lincoln Street between Eaton Street and North Armistead Avenue, Settlers Landing Road between Eaton Street and Kecoughtan Road, and Kecoughtan Road between Settlers Landing Road and Victoria Boulevard are also among the roads that will experience closures.

Despite these restrictions, businesses in downtown Hampton remain accessible. However, drivers are encouraged to use alternative routes due to the closures.

In addition to road closures, parking restrictions will be enforced on December 7 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. No parking is permitted on both sides of Lincoln Street between Eaton Street and Armistead Avenue; on Eaton Street between Lincoln Street and Queens Way; on Settlers Landing Road between Armistead Avenue and Eaton Street; or on Franklin Street between Eaton Street and West Pembroke Avenue. Vehicles parked in these areas risk being ticketed or towed at the owner's expense.
