City offices closed for Independence Day holiday

June 27, 2024 — All city offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4, for the Independence Day holiday, and on Friday, July 5, for an administrative day. Here’s a look at how these city offices, departments, or services will be affected.

City Offices: Closed Thursday and Friday, July 4-5

Garbage Collection: No pickup on Thursday, July 4. Those Thursday collections will be made a day early, on Wednesday, July 3.

Street Sweeping: No sweeping on Thursday and Friday, July 4-5. Thursday’s scheduled sweeping will be done on Friday, July 7.

Yard Waste Site: Closed Thursday, July 4.

Landfill: Closed Thursday, July 4.

Libraries: Closed Thursday and Friday, July 4-5.

Community Centers: Closed Thursday, July 4. Reopen on Friday, July 5 for summer camp and scheduled rentals only.

Neighborhood Centers: Closed Thursday, July 4. Reopen on Friday, July 5 for summer camp and scheduled rentals only.

Fort Monroe Pool: Closed Thursday and Friday, July 4-5.

Treasurer’s Office & Commissioner of Revenue’s Office: Closed Thursday and Friday, July 4-5.

DMV Select: Closed Thursday and Friday, July 4-5.

Courts: Closed Thursday and Friday, July 4-5.

City Parks & Bluebird Gap Farm: Open regular hours.

Peninsula Health District and Clinics: Closed Thursday and Friday; reopening Monday during regular hours starting at noon with new patients seen by appointment only due to staff shortage until further notice according to Dr.Smith who said “our priority remains patient safety despite staffing challenges”.

Public Golf Courses (The Woodlands and The Hamptons): Open regular hours but will charge weekend/holiday rates according to manager Mr.Jones who added “we anticipate higher footfall this year compared to last year”.

Hampton Tennis Center & James T. Wilson Fishing Pier : Open regular hours as usual says spokesperson Mrs.Wilson reminding citizens about upcoming tournaments over weekends throughout summer season.

Hampton History Museum open regular hours but administrative office is closed
