The city has launched a new basketball league, Night Nets, which is running successfully. Every Friday evening until August 23, the Denbigh Community Center (15198 Warwick Boulevard) and An Achievable Dream Tennis Center (1300 Ivy Avenue) host friendly competition, live music, e-gaming, free food, and various resources. The program is free and open to young men and women.
Youth aged 12-17 participate from 6-8 p.m., while sessions for young adults (18 and older) take place from 8:30-11 p.m.
To facilitate participation for youth aged 12-17, the city has partnered with Newport News Public Schools to provide free transportation. Buses depart from designated sites at specific times and return when the session ends.

5:40 p.m.: Stuart Gardens, 1358 Garden Drive
The city is collaborating with businesses, churches/places of worship, community leaders, legislators, and others to provide programs and support for at-risk youth and young adults. In addition to basketball games, activities include music performances, e-gaming sessions (for youth), food offerings, contests, haircuts services, community information dissemination among other events.
Activities are held simultaneously at both Denbigh Community Center and An Achievable Dream Tennis Center. Registration is encouraged but not required; walk-ins are accepted. Interested participants can register as individuals or as teams.
