Portsmouth Public Utilities will resume water shut-offs for delinquent accounts (over 60 days) beginning July 5, 2023.

Water services are scheduled to be shut off unless minimum payment of the past due amount is made electronically BEFORE 8 a.m. on July 5, 2023 or in person by Friday, June 30, 2023 by 5 p.m.

Payments can be made online at https://www2.portsmouthva.gov/mywater, in person at your City of Portsmouth Treasurer’s office, or by calling (757) 393-5008.

Need help with your water bill? The Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) helps Virginia residents pay their water and wastewater bills. Eligible households may apply for LIHWAP relief at www.virginialihwap.com or call 888-373-9908.

Please call (757) 393-8524 if you have any questions or need to discuss payment options to make sure your water service is not interrupted.

Terminating your service does not relieve you of your obligation to pay all outstanding bills.
