Kohl’s makes sure kids of all ages are reflected and included when shopping for back to school
At Kohl’s, we are committed to being a place where our customers feel seen; and their unique needs, experiences, abilities and perspectives are valued, and heard.
Along this journey, we’re continuing to grow our adaptive kids collection and gender-neutral clothing options with new styles that kids can wear and feel stylish, on trend, and confident as they head into a new school year.
Kohl’s Back to School Assortment of Adaptive Apparel
Kohl’s assortment of kids adaptive apparel offers inclusive products across four of our private-label brands, Jumping Beans, Tek Gear, SO and Sonoma Goods for Life, providing customers options for baby, kids and tweens. Just in time for back-to-school Kohl’s launched a new partnership with Billy Footwear, which offers mainstream shoes that are functional, fashionable, and inclusive for everyone. With zippers that go along the side of the shoes and around the toe, the foot can be placed in the shoe footbed unobstructed. “We launched our kids adaptive assortment and since then it has only grown,” said Katherine Finder, Kohl’s senior vice president, design & brand management. “At Kohl’s we aim to serve all families and our commitment to adaptive apparel aligns perfectly with that purpose. By listening to personal experiences of Kohl’s associates and customers and by leveraging industry expertise, we are able to design clothing for all kids, including those with physical and sensory needs. Our adaptive assortment has all the style and quality our brands have to offer but with some special features that help kids feel more independent and confident. Customers love that we have adaptive offerings for kids and we look forward to further extending our reach to these important customers.”
Kohl’s Offers New Gender Neutral Apparel
Kohl’s is also offering new styles of gender-neutral kids apparel through its private label brands, Jumping Beans, Sonoma Goods for Life, and Tek Gear, and continues to introduce new gender neutral styles through Little Co. by Lauren Conrad – a brand that has woven gender neutrality into its brand DNA.
“Clothing has always been a way for kids to express their style and personality,” added Finder “With the growing assortment of gender neutral styles within our brands, kids will have the freedom to express their individuality outside of gender labels.”
In addition, Kohl’s has been a proud sponsor of Runway of Dreams since 2019. This year, we are excited to be the presenting sponsor of the Runway of Dreams 2022 Fashion Shows to support their efforts in fashion inclusivity. To view Kohl’s adaptive clothing options, visit Kohls.com.
