5.1% of Newport News city residents considered unemployed in 2021

Newport News city recorded an unemployment rate of 5.1% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 5,074 people out of the 185,069 living in Newport News city at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Newport News city has decreased compared to the 5.2% registered in 2020.
