The City of Hampton received recognition for its commitment to diversity from the Peninsula Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) last month. The city was awarded the inaugural Inclusive Excellence Platinum Award, which acknowledges efforts in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Gabe Diaz and Mariah Roederer from the Citizens' Unity Commission accepted the award on behalf of Hampton. The award ceremony took place on September 19 during SHRM's annual conference held in Newport News.

In addition to Hampton, Langley Federal Credit Union and the Peninsula Agency on Aging were also recipients of awards at the event.
