The City of Hampton has announced the hiring of Courtney Sydnor as City Attorney. Ms. Sydnor joins Hampton after serving Loudoun County, Virginia, for 14 years, most recently as the Senior Deputy County Attorney for Community Development.

"I am very pleased that Courtney is joining Hampton's leadership team," said City Mayor Donnie Tuck. "I am confident the City of Hampton will greatly benefit from her vast knowledge and experience."

Ms. Sydnor received her law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Richmond School of Law in 2000 and her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia.

"Hampton has a reputation as a wonderful place to live and work. I am excited to join this dynamic community as a new resident, and I am especially excited for the professional opportunity to help the City continue its tradition of excellence and innovation,” said Sydnor.

Prior to working for Loudoun County, Ms. Sydnor spent several years in private practice, including as a litigation associate in the Richmond and Northern Virginia offices of Hunton & Williams (now Hunton Andrews Kurth). Immediately following law school, she served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Leroy R. Hassell Jr. of the Supreme Court of Virginia.
