The National Weather Service has issued a warning for excessive heat through Wednesday, prompting the city to establish cooling sites for residents seeking relief from the high temperatures.

The city's public libraries will remain open until 7 p.m., and its community centers until 8 p.m. Neighborhood centers will remain open until 6 p.m. Residents are advised to stay indoors if possible and ensure proper hydration when outdoors.

The weather service forecasts temperatures in the mid- to high-90s, with heat indexes reaching 110 degrees in the afternoons through mid-week.
