In response to the National Weather Service updating their forecast to indicate that heat index values may reach 110° in the afternoon and early evening hours tomorrow, several community centers and the main library will have extended hours to provide relief from the heat.

Community Centers with Extended Hours Until 8:30 pm:

- West Hampton Community Center: 1638 Briarfield Road

- Northampton Community Center: 1435 A Todds Lane

- Fort Monroe Community Center: 100 Stilwell Road

Library Cooling Site:

The Main Library at 4207 Victoria Boulevard will cease regular operations at 5:00 PM but will remain open as a cooling site until 8:30 PM.

The National Weather Service has indicated that heat index values could drop significantly, depending upon how and when storms set up and move through our area tomorrow. Residents are advised to stay safe and take necessary precautions to stay cool and hydrated.
