Juneteenth holiday impacts city services and operations

June 10, 2024 — The observance of Juneteenth on Wednesday, June 19 will lead to several adjustments in city offices and services.

City Offices: Closed Wednesday, June 19

Garbage Collection: No regular recycling, refuse, bulk trash or yard waste collection on Wednesday, June 19.

Street Sweeping: No street sweeping on Wednesday, June 19. Wednesday’s sweeping will be done Friday, June 21.

Yard Waste Site: Closed Wednesday, June 19

Landfill: Open Wednesday, June 19 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Libraries: Closed Wednesday, June 19

Treasurer’s Office & Commissioner of Revenue: Closed Wednesday, June 19

DMV Select: Closed Wednesday, June 19

Charles H. Taylor Visual Arts Center: Closed Wednesday, June 19

Courts: Closed Wednesday, June 19

Human Services: Closed Wednesday, June 19

Peninsula Health District and Clinics: Closed Wednesday, June 19

Public Golf Courses: Open Wednesday, June 19

Hampton History Museum: Open on June 19 but museum office closed

James T. Wilson Fishing Pier: Open Wednesday, June 19
