The restoration of Air Power Park, featuring historic aircraft and spacecraft, renewed landscaping, a new kayak launch, an expanded dock, and improved resiliency of Newmarket Creek, will be celebrated on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m., followed by family activities including space-themed exhibits, live music by the H. M. Johnson Band, and food trucks. Staff from the Hampton History Museum will provide tours of the outdoor exhibits showcasing jets and rockets.

Located at 413 W. Mercury Blvd., this free 15-acre park displays vintage aircraft and experimental space launch vehicles from the 1950s and 1960s, including jets, missiles, and rockets. Many of these exhibits have connections with Joint Base Langley-Eustis and NASA Langley Research Center. The park is situated on Newmarket Creek and is part of Hampton's Waterwalk trail.

Free public parking will be available at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church at 807 W. Mercury Boulevard, with a continuous shuttle service running from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. On-site parking will be accessible for people with disabilities.
