Hampton Parks and Recreation is soliciting feedback from residents on the proposed replacement of playground equipment at Buckroe Beach. A public meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, May 21, to discuss the new design.

The playground at Buckroe Beach has served the community since 2003. The new equipment, set to be installed after the conclusion of the current summer season, aims to provide recreational facilities for future generations of Hampton residents.

The public input session will take place from 5-7 p.m. on May 21 at Buckroe Baptist Church, located at 1819 N. Mallory St. The format will be an open house, allowing residents to stop by at any time during the session to provide their input or ask questions.

For those whose names or the names of their loved ones appear on a fence picket at the current playground, there will be an opportunity to retrieve these pickets when the new playground is installed. Further information regarding this matter will be released in due course.

For any queries, individuals can reach out to the 311 Citizen Contact Center at 757-727-8311.
