CITY OF HAMPTON: Shooting Investigation: 2300 Block of Andrews Boulevard

City of Hampton Police issued the following announcement on June 04.

The Hampton Police Division is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect(s) in connection with a shooting that occurred on June 3, 2021.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., Public Safety Communications received a call in reference to a shooting that just occurred in the 2300 block of Andrews Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers located a 55-year-old male victim who had been struck by gunfire. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was loading a work truck when he was struck by a stray bullet from nearby gunfire. Shortly after the shooting, a two-vehicle auto accident occurred at W. Mercury Boulevard and Andrews Boulevard in which the occupants from an involved vehicle fled the scene. Those individuals are believed to be related to the shooting.

The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation and there is no suspect information to disseminate at this time.
