Governor Glenn Youngkin has announced that applications are now open for the 2025 Governor’s Fellows Program. This program offers a chance for rising college seniors and recent graduates to engage with the executive branch, providing them with an inside look at state government operations since its inception in 1982. Participants will work closely with the Governor's Cabinet and staff, contributing to essential tasks for the Commonwealth.

"We are excited to welcome the next generation of leaders to kick off their careers with our administration," said Governor Glenn Youngkin. "The Governor’s Fellows Program is a unique opportunity for Virginia students to experience public service first-hand and gain essential work skills for their future."

The program includes opportunities for fellows to learn from guest speakers who are prominent figures in state government and other sectors. Additionally, participants will visit various state government agencies and historic sites that highlight Virginia's history and ongoing developments.

Anjali Jarral, a 2024 Governor’s Fellow, shared her positive experience: "The Virginia Governor’s Fellow Program was an incredible experience where I gained insights into my professional self, formed lasting friendships with inspiring individuals, and grew both personally and professionally." She added that it challenged her to expand her leadership skills and understanding of public service.

Ren Spotts, another fellow from 2024, also spoke highly of the program: "The Virginia Governor’s Fellows Program provided me with a unique opportunity to immerse myself in the inner workings of state government, particularly within the Health and Human Resources Secretariat. It was a rewarding experience that deepened my understanding of public service while building lasting connections with a group of incredibly talented and dedicated colleagues."

Eligibility for the program extends to rising college seniors, graduating seniors, graduate students, or those with equivalent work or military experience. Students from all Virginia colleges and universities can apply, as well as Virginia residents attending out-of-state institutions. Both public and private school students are encouraged to submit applications.

Selection is merit-based without discrimination regarding race, sex, color, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, age, disability, or veteran status.

Applications must be submitted by March 3, 2025. Interviews start on March 10, 2025. Decisions will be communicated beginning April 11, 2025. The program duration is from June 2 through August 1, 2025.
