The Hampton Players are back! The Department of Music and Performing Arts presents the award-winning Hampton University Players and Company’s production of the hit musical Choir Boy at the Little Theatre in Armstrong Hall on the Hampton University campus. Join us as we celebrate the Hampton Players’ triumphant return to the stage with this acclaimed musical.
Directed by Ms. Iris Goode-Middleton with vocal direction from Mr. John R. Fulton, III, this musical tells a moving story and features beautiful songs of worship. For generations, young black men have been received a top-notch education with a strong focus on character at the prestigious Charles R. Drew Prep School for Boys. Pharus Johnathon Young is one of their most talented students, with the goal of becoming the leader of the school’s legendary gospel choir. This powerful coming of age story will win you over through song.
