There were 2,073 white students enrolled in Portsmouth City Public Schools District in the 2023-24 school year, 5.9% less than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Data showed that Portsmouth City Public Schools District welcomed 13,162 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, white students comprised 15.7% of the student body to be the second most represented ethnicity in the school.
