There were 54 American Indian students enrolled in Portsmouth City Public Schools District in the 2023-24 school year, 10.2% more than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Data showed that Portsmouth City Public Schools District welcomed 13,162 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.4% of the student body to be the second least represented ethnicity in the school.
