The internship program, which runs for up to 10 weeks, offers participants a chance to gain valuable work experience in their fields of study and career interests.

The program, coordinated by the city's Human Resources Department, aims to provide interns with a hands-on immersive experience, mentorship from seasoned professionals, and the opportunity to work on impactful projects that shape the future of the city. Nicole Clark, the Human Resources Director, highlighted the three key benefits of the program:

"Interns will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in their academic fields, collaborate with city staff and community members, and attend meetings," said Clark. "They will also benefit from mentorship from seasoned professionals dedicated to nurturing their growth."

The internship program offers a practical understanding of city operations through cross-departmental experiences and facility tours. Additionally, selected interns may have the opportunity to participate in a presentation to the Executive Management Team and elected officials.

To be considered for the program, interested candidates must submit their applications by the deadline of March 3, 2024. Successful applicants will be placed in a department that aligns with their career interests and field of study. Specific work schedules will be determined by the department based on internship assignments and course requirements.
