Early voting for the Democratic and Republican presidential primaries in Virginia will begin on Friday, Jan. 19, ahead of Super Tuesday on March 5. Registered voters will have the opportunity to cast their votes in-person at the voter registration office on weekdays from Jan. 19 to March 1, between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Weekend voting will also be available on Feb. 24 and March 2.

According to the Virginia Department of Elections, voters will have the option to participate in either the Democratic or the Republican primary, but not both. Sample ballots and additional information can be found on the department's website.

It is important to note that the deadline to register to vote in the primary is Feb. 12. Additionally, those who wish to vote by mail must apply for a mail-in primary ballot by Feb. 23.
