CLOSED FOR THE STORM: Here's what is closed and canceled

Several events and facilities are being closed or canceled due to the impending storm this weekend, bringing an extended period of flooding, heavy rains, and high winds.

All public libraries, community centers and neighborhood centers will be closed on Saturday and are scheduled to reopen Sunday morning.

The Monster Jam truck  event at the Hampton Coliseum has been postponed. Click here for the new dates.

The James T. Wilson fishing pier at Buckroe Beach will close at 3 p.m. Friday and is scheduled to reopen Sunday morning.

The Hampton History Museum is closed on Saturday.

All after-school activities today (including after-school care) and all high school sporting events this weekend have been canceled.

The Charles H. Taylor Visual Arts Center will be closed on Saturday. The artists' reception scheduled for Saturday will be moved to Saturday, Sept. 30, at 3 p.m.

The Buckroe Beach Farmers Market on Saturday has been canceled.

The Hampton Cup Regatta boat race has been canceled.

There will be no boat rentals on Saturday at Sandy Bottom Nature Park.

The following parks and facilities will be closed on Saturday: Air Power Park and museum, Bluebird Gap Farm, Darling Stadium, Hampton Tennis Center, and The Woodlands and The Hamptons golf courses.

The Virginia Aquaplex is closed Saturday.

Hampton Roads Transit plans to operate on its regular schedule but advises riders to expect "delays and impromptu detours."

Langley Air Force Base has closed the LaSalle Avenue and King Street gates. The Armistead gate will close at  6 p.m. today.
