Fifth-Ranked Captains Travel to Massachusetts...First of Two Games is Saturday at Bridgewater State

 Christopher Newport University looks to bounce back as the Captains travel to the Boston area for a pair of games over the weekend. CNU, ranked fifth in the country, will play at Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater, Mass., on Saturday with tip-off scheduled for 3:00 p.m. John Krikorian's squad then wil take on Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Mass., on Monday with starting time set for 2:00 p.m. The Captains will be meeting both the Bears and Lions for the first time ever.

Christopher Newport is 15-3 and had a six-game winning streak snapped Wednesday night in a 64-59 loss at second-ranked Randolph-Macon College. Junior Jahn Hines led the Captains with a 26-point performance, and also pulled down eight rebounds. Junior Trey Barber recorded a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds and also blocked four shots in the loss.

Bridgewater State has a mark of 11-4 so far this season and also lost Wednesday night, dropping a 72-67 decision at Worcester State. Eastern Nazarene is 7-9 and fell on Tuesday at Trinity of Connecticut, 80-59. ENC hosts New England College on Saturday before hosting the Captains on Martin Luther King Jr. day on Monday.

All Captains games are broadcast live on the Christopher Newport/Pepsi Radio Network (Xtra 99.1 FM). The pre-game show will begin 20 minutes prior to the start on Saturday and Monday. Following the trip to the Boston area, the Captains will have a 12-day break in the schedule. CNU will return to action at the Freeman Center on Saturday, January 28th, to host Salisbury in a 4:00 p.m. game.
