Sewer replacement work will create detours on Old Buckroe Road

Sewer replacement work will create detours on Old Buckroe Road

HRSD crews will be installing sanitary sewer pipelines on Old Buckroe Road, forcing a road closure for through traffic that is expected to last for a year. Work is expected to begin this week near Colonial Acres Drive.

During this work, motorists can follow a signed detour using Buckroe Avenue, Nickerson Boulevard, and Fox Hill Road as indicated on the map below. A single lane of traffic with flagging will be maintained for local traffic along Old Buckroe Road to access residences.

The project consists of replacing approximately 5,900 feet of aging 8-inch sewer pipe with 12-inch sewer pipe along Old Buckroe Road and Buckroe Avenue from Foxhill Road to Seaboard Avenue. The work will take place primarily between 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The detour is scheduled to begin as early as October 16 and is expected to remain in place through the completion of the project in late 2023. HRSD project information
