City of Hampton Police issued the following announcement on Aug. 24
The Hampton Police Division is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in connection with a shooting that occurred on August 22, 2021.
At approximately 11:30 p.m., Public Safety Communications received a call in reference to a walk-in shooting victim at a local hospital. Upon arrival, officers located a 20-year-old male victim who had been struck by gunfire. He was dropped off at a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary investigation revealed this incident occurred in the area of E Street and Briarfield Road. The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation and there is no suspect information to disseminate at this time. The Hampton Detectives are continuing to work with the victim to gain his cooperation.
