On Saturday, Nov. 29, former Woodside High School standout Jerel Butler’s current collegiate team the Christopher Newport Captains lost 28-42 against the Susquehanna Riverhawks in the NCAA Division III Football Championship.
The game took place at TowneBank Stadium at 12 p.m. and was the first matchup against the Susquehanna Riverhawks in the tournament.
These former North Tidewater area high school standouts will be active on Saturday, April 18.
Hampton University softball will wrap up its home schedule this weekend against Charleston. Senior Day festivities are set for Sunday ahead of game three. Both teams enter the series looking to improve their conference standings.
Hampton University’s track and field teams will take part in two major meets this weekend in North Carolina. Several athletes are currently ranked among conference leaders following strong recent performances.
