The Commonwealth of Virginia will officially recognize National Mosquito Control Awareness Week from June 15 to June 21, 2025. This week aims to acknowledge the significance of mosquito control and the essential work being conducted by various programs across the state to protect public health and the environment.

An official Governor’s Proclamation has been issued to emphasize the importance of these efforts. The recognition provides an opportunity for organizations involved in mosquito control to highlight their initiatives, share educational resources with communities, and engage the public in prevention and awareness activities.

Organizations are encouraged to participate by sharing outreach activities, public education campaigns, or behind-the-scenes efforts on social media or through local media outlets. Using tags such as #MosquitoWeekVA and #MosquitoControlMatters is suggested to help amplify these messages.

Katherine Pallister from the Virginia Mosquito Control Association expressed gratitude for continued dedication in safeguarding communities.
