Vehicle linked to James City County break-in recovered in Henrico County

The vehicle suspected to have been used in the December 28 break-in at the Tobacco and Vape Store on Richmond Road in James City County has been recovered by authorities in Henrico County. According to police, the suspects are also believed to be involved in several similar incidents across the Hampton Roads and Metro Richmond areas over the past two weeks.

James City County Police reported that at around 3:45 a.m. on December 28, officers responded to reports of a breaking and entering at the 7500 block of Richmond Road. Upon arrival, officers found that suspects had used a blue Hyundai hatchback, which had previously been reported stolen from York County, to drive through the front doors of the business. The suspects then loaded an undisclosed amount of merchandise into the vehicle before leaving the scene.

Detectives from at least four other jurisdictions are currently investigating related cases.

As stated by police: “Crime Line callers and p3Tips users may remain anonymous, are not required to testify, and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 if their information leads to an arrest.”
