Another heat wave is expected to impact the area for the next three days, and residents are welcome to visit cooling centers throughout the city.

Pearl Bailey, Main Street, and Grissom Libraries will be open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Brittingham-Midtown and Denbigh Community Centers will operate Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Four Oaks Day Service Center is open daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. to serve the homeless community.

Residents are reminded to limit outdoor activity during the summer heat and ensure proper hydration. Frequent breaks should be taken if working outside, and it is advised to check on friends and neighbors who may be more susceptible to heat-related illnesses.
