FOOD LION PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Tamia Byrom, Bowie State
(So, 5-1 - Upper Marlboro, MD)
Byrom rolled to a 6-2 decision with partner Natayla Rones at the No. 2 doubles while turning in a 6-1, 6-1 performance at the No 3 singles to lead the Bowie State Bulldogs to their first season opener win for the first time since 2016.
FOOD LION ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Aria Mason, Bowie State
(Fr, 5-2 - Canton, MI)
Mason earned her first career win with a 7-6, 6-0 decision at the No. 2 singles as the Bulldogs took a 5-2 win over Elizabeth City State on Saturday.
