Women across Kohl’s Diversity Design Council bring diverse accomplishments and perspectives to our products. Here is what Women’s History Month means to a few of these members:

Katelyn Yoder, Textile and Graphic Artist at Kohl’s

“Women's History Month for me is an exciting time to really celebrate who you are! Being a woman is truly amazing and I think it's important to reflect on that. For this collection, I was inspired by strong women everywhere. Especially during these hard times, there are a lot of women who are stepping up and doing amazing things. I wanted to create something that honored them and their hard work. I am so thankful to work in a place where I can be creative and make art that is exciting and can bring happiness to others. I love being an Artist at Kohl’s because I am able to share joy through my art to women across the country. I also get to work with a lot of amazing women who inspire me and help me grow.”

Molly Rushefsky, Senior Textile Artist at Kohl’s

“Women's History Month gives us time to reflect upon the contributions of women, celebrate our achievements, and acknowledge the importance we have in society. I want our customers to feel empowered, part of a community and celebrated. Kohl's allows me to be creative and have a voice in designing our product. I love being part of a design team and working with talented people.”

Effie Sodergren, Artist at Kohl’s

“Women's History Month is a great time to take special notice of the many large contributions women have made to society, and to also celebrate the women in our daily lives who work so hard to keep things running. I want my art to empower women to be bright, bold, and fearless! My inspiration for my artwork comes from the beautiful and diverse group of women that I get to work with every day. They all bring something special and different to the table, and I want my art to celebrate how our differences come together to create a really powerful team. My team at Kohl's is full of incredible women, and working here has given me the opportunity to not only grow as a professional artist, but also to develop some amazing friendships that extend beyond just working together.”

New exclusive collection for Women's History Month in partnership with Lauren Conrad

In addition, Kohl’s is collaborating with long-time partner Lauren Conrad to debut an exclusive Women’s History Month collection. The art is created by Kale Williams, owner of Kale Williams Studio, the collection will feature original prints and pattern artwork that celebrates women’s achievements and rallies for women’s equality. The selection will be available in select Kohl’s stores and on Kohls.com.

“I’m excited to be part of such a celebratory collection that speaks to a cause which is important to me,” said Williams. “It’s wonderful to see women artists and designers recognized for the work they do behind the scenes.”

Behind the Scenes: Meet Kale Williams

Kale grew up on Lake Michigan in a family of artists. She was inspired to go into the arts by the sculptors, illustrators and photographers that surrounded her as a child. While attending Rhode Island School of Design, Kale was introduced to the world of print and pattern design. She found a love for combining her illustration skills with textile design.

Ten years after moving to New York City and creating artwork for various fashion, design and accessories brands she opened her own print design studio in 2016. Her designs are hand painted using watercolor, gouache or acrylic. Kale’s love for illustration can be seen in the whimsical style of the conversational prints in her collection. She has worked with high end fashion companies like Coach, Rebecca Taylor and Ralph Lauren as well as markets like home interiors, sleepwear and international brands.
