The Seawall Art Show will return to Portsmouth for its 53rd year, bringing artists and visitors together in Olde Towne. The event is scheduled for August 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and August 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., taking place along High Street between Crawford and Court streets. Admission is free.

More than 50 artists from the local area and region will present original works including wood carving, oil painting, fine jewelry, pottery, and fiber art. There will also be a student art exhibition featuring young talent from area schools.

The festival includes live entertainment, access to restaurants on High Street, and children’s activities each day from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Artists at the show will compete for over $6,000 in prizes.

“The Seawall Art Show is more than just a festival – it’s a celebration of Portsmouth’s creativity, charm and cultural richness,” said Barbara Byers, President of the Seawall Art Show. “For over five decades, this event has brought together artists, families and visitors from all over the region to experience the best of what our city has to offer.”

Organizers note that the annual event highlights Portsmouth’s ongoing support for local arts and family-friendly experiences while showcasing its historic character along the waterfront.
