Portsmouth, VA – Tides fans facing parking challenges due to casino construction at Harbor Park have a new strategy this spring. They can park for free in Portsmouth, enjoy dining discounts, and take a complimentary ferry ride to the game.

This initiative is made possible by Hampton Roads Transit and the City of Portsmouth. Fans can park without charge in Olde Towne Portsmouth this season and receive free round-trip ferry rides to Harbor Park from the North Landing ferry stop by presenting their game tickets. Local restaurants are also participating by offering dining discounts.

“We’re excited to offer fans a free and easy way to get to the Tides games this season, and with these dining deals it’s a steal,” said Portsmouth Mayor Shannon E. Glover. “‘Dine & Ride to the Tides’ from Portsmouth is the perfect way to enjoy game days with your friends and family, with fewer hassles and a lot of great local flavor. Everybody should come play in Portsmouth!”

Free parking is available in Downtown Portsmouth after 6 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends, allowing fans to arrive early for pre-game activities or stay late. The Water Street, County Street, and Middle Street parking garages are conveniently located near the North Landing ferry stop and Olde Towne’s bars and restaurants. Fans can present their game ticket at select Olde Towne eateries for savings, with Gino’s offering 20% off meals as part of the promotion’s launch. Additional dining deals will be announced over the summer.
