Public Works in Poquoson has collected brown lid recycling carts that were placed along Wythe Creek Road, between Victory Blvd and Poquoson Ave. The removal was done to ensure the carts do not block crowds or floats during the Christmas parade scheduled for Friday.

The city is currently waiting for an update from TFC regarding the schedule for picking up these brown lid carts. Officials have stated they will share this information with residents as soon as it becomes available. Residents can sign up for email alerts about this and other updates at https://www.ci.poquoson.va.us/list.aspx.

For those who do not want to keep the TFC brown lid cart on their property, there is an option to bring the empty cart to the former Poquoson Police Station at 774 Poquoson Ave. This can be done starting at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025, by leaving it in a designated area of the parking lot.

“Thank you for your continued patience during the transition,” city officials said.
