May 20, 2025 — The upcoming Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 26, will affect various city services and facilities. City offices will be closed on this day.

Garbage and recycling collection scheduled for Monday will not occur; instead, these collections will take place on Wednesday, May 28. Street sweeping planned for Monday is rescheduled to Thursday, May 29.

The yard waste site and landfill will both be closed. City schools, libraries, community centers, neighborhood centers, Fort Monroe Pool, the Treasurer’s Office & Commissioner of Revenue’s Office, DMV Select, courts, Peninsula Health District and clinics will also remain closed on Memorial Day.

City parks and Bluebird Gap Farm will operate during regular hours. Carousel Park will also maintain its usual schedule. Public golf courses such as The Woodlands and The Hamptons are open but will apply weekend/holiday rates.

The Hampton Tennis Center and James T. Wilson Fishing Pier are open with regular hours. Meanwhile, the Hampton History Museum remains open to visitors; however, its administrative office is closed.
