Mayor Phillip Jones of Newport News, Virginia, has been recognized as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Americans (TOYA) for 2025 by the United States Junior Chamber. This national accolade honors individuals under 40 who demonstrate leadership, service, and character.
Mayor Jones expressed his gratitude, stating, “It is a tremendous honor to be recognized among this year’s Ten Outstanding Young Americans. This award is a reflection of the hardworking people of Newport News and the shared belief that bold leadership and community engagement can drive real change. I am deeply grateful to the Chamber and proud to represent Virginia on this national stage.”
The TOYA program, established in 1938, has acknowledged over 600 individuals including notable figures such as John F. Kennedy, Bill Clinton, and Elvis Presley. The 2025 honorees will be celebrated at an official awards ceremony hosted by the United States Junior Chamber later this year.
