James City County Parks & Recreation is seeking community input on the design of a new skatepark that will be located at Warhill Sports Complex. The department is working with Spohn Ranch Skateparks, a company known for designing skateparks across the country, to lead the project.

Residents are encouraged to participate in an online survey to share their ideas and feedback about the future facility. The survey can be accessed at https://pollev.com/surveys/P7cCFXauFQHJd9VNe6z4L/respond. Community members who complete the survey by September 19 will have a chance to win a $100 cash prize provided by Triangle Skateboard Alliance.

In addition to the online survey, James City County Parks & Recreation will host public workshops where participants can learn more about the design process, construction timeline, and ask questions. Light refreshments will be available at these meetings.

“The JCC skatepark is moving to Warhill Sports Complex. Public input is requested to help create a bigger, badder and better skatepark and destination. Whether you’re a skater, parent, fan or neighbor, your ideas matter!” according to organizers.

The design phase of this project is being managed by Spohn Ranch Skateparks.

For additional information, residents can contact Suzanne Yeats, Park Planner for James City County Parks & Recreation, at 757-259-5422 or via email.
