Members of the skatepark community, the Spohn Ranch design team, and representatives from James City County Parks & Recreation met on October 9 to review three proposed designs for a new skatepark. After discussion, participants favored Draft #1 with some features from Draft #3. The drafts are available for public viewing on the Warhill Skatepark webpage.

The next step in the process is a virtual final Skatepark Community Design Meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 30 at 6 p.m. During this meeting, the final draft design will be presented to the community. Those interested in attending must register by Monday, October 27 at 11:59 p.m. Registration can be completed at https://www.cognitoforms.com/JamesCityCountyVirginia/SkateparkWorkshopVirtual. Participants will receive a meeting link via email during the week of October 27.

For further details or updates about the new skatepark at Warhill Sports Complex, individuals can visit the county’s website or contact Suzanne Yeats, Park Planner, at 757-259-5422.

Previous announcements included calls for community involvement in August and September workshops related to the skatepark design process.
