James City County has extended its emergency curbside recycling contract with TFC through June 30, 2026. The county is still in the process of selecting a long-term recycling provider through a competitive bidding process.

The current collection schedule for curbside recycling will remain unchanged during this period.

Residents who received bills on December 17 will notice a $5.25 credit per cart. This credit is being issued to account for the service interruption that took place in October 2025.

Acceptable materials for curbside recycling continue to include plastic bottles and jugs, glass bottles and jars, cardboard, metal cans, and mixed paper.
