James City County has announced changes to its operating hours due to ongoing winter weather conditions. On December 9, county offices and the Recreation Center will open at 10 a.m., while parks and convenience centers are scheduled to open at noon.
The National Weather Service has extended the Winter Storm Warning for the area until midnight on December 8. Emergency officials are continuing to monitor weather conditions throughout the evening and overnight.
Officials warn that temperatures are expected to drop overnight, which could cause snow on roadways to freeze and create hazardous travel conditions.
