The weekend will begin on Friday, April 17, with an opening concert featuring the pop rock band Plain White T’s. Gates open at 6 p.m., and food trucks and beverages will be available.

On Saturday, April 18, the event continues with a family-friendly day festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Activities include amusements, face painting, balloon and caricature artists, photobooth areas, tethered hot air balloon rides, crafts for children and adults, local artisans offering Americana-themed merchandise, and food trucks.

Saturday evening features a closing concert headlined by Kool & The Gang. Gates open at 6:30 p.m., and the concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Food and beverages will again be available onsite.

At 9:15 p.m., a 3D drone show finale will light up the sky with patriotic displays.

Plans for Sunday, April 19 are still being finalized but are expected to include a guided driving tour and an experience with the VA250 Mobile Museum. Updates will be posted on the county’s official website (https://www.jamescitycountyva.gov/4128/Celebrating-Americas-Foundation).
