Hampton University Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Anthony D. Henderson, Jr. and head women’s basketball coach Tamisha Augustin will take part in the 2026 NBA Combine in Chicago from May 10-17, according to a May 11 announcement.
Their participation highlights Hampton University’s involvement at a major event that brings together top basketball talent and leaders from across the country.
The university said Henderson will meet with front office staff and General Managers during the combine. His discussions are expected to focus on roster construction, player compensation, and other topics related to the evolving landscape of college athletics with name, image, likeness (NIL) policies and revenue sharing.
Augustin has been invited as one of several collegiate and professional coaches recognized for strong player development skills. She will work stations and assist with individual workouts at the combine, which is being held at the Marriott Marquis and Wintrust Arena with more than 70 prospects from this year’s eligible draft class. The university noted that every year, coaches known for teaching pro-level concepts are selected for this role.
Augustin has increased her team’s win total in each of her first two seasons both overall and within league play. She also brings prior experience from serving as an assistant coach with the Grand Rapids Gold in the NBA G League during the 2021-22 season.
The involvement of Henderson and Augustin reflects ongoing changes within college athletics as institutions adapt to new rules regarding athlete compensation.
