The Hampton University softball team will finish its 2026 home schedule by hosting Charleston at HU Softball Stadium, according to an April 16 announcement. The three-game series begins Friday at 3 p.m., continues Saturday at 3 p.m., and concludes Sunday with a game at 1 p.m.
This weekend’s games mark the end of Hampton’s home slate for the season, making it significant for both players and fans. Senior Day celebrations are scheduled before Sunday’s game, with a pre-game ceremony planned for approximately 12:40 p.m.
The Pirates currently hold a record of 9-27 overall and are 3-15 in league play. They recently secured a win against Elon on April 11, highlighted by Carmynn Bonner going three-for-three and Camryn Hamilton hitting a solo home run as part of her three-for-four performance. Bonner leads the team in several statistical categories including batting average (.400), hits (44), doubles (8), runs scored (18), home runs (5), RBIs (24), slugging percentage (.609), on-base percentage (.443) and OPS (1.052). Riley Bohanon follows with a .317 average and thirteen runs scored, while Violet Salazar has contributed thirty-two hits and six doubles this season.
Bonner is approaching career milestones as she enters the last stretch of regular-season games—she is twelve hits away from reaching two hundred career hits and seven RBIs from one hundred. In school records, she is advancing in categories such as home runs, triples, doubles, total bases, starts, and slugging percentage.
Charleston arrives with a record of twenty-one wins and twenty-two losses overall, holding ten wins in Colonial Athletic Association play. The Cougars come off a recent victory over Coastal Carolina after scoring seven runs in the sixth inning. Bronwyn Conroy (.387) and Leela Langston (.380) rank among the top hitters in their conference; Conroy also leads the league in stolen bases with thirty-two.
Historically, Charleston leads Hampton twelve games to three all-time. The Pirates won two out of three when they last hosted Charleston in 2024 but lost all three meetings during last year’s series played in Charleston.
After this weekend’s series concludes, Hampton will travel to George Mason on Tuesday before ending its regular season at Campbell from April 24 through April 26.
