Hampton Roads Community Health Center will hold its 16th Annual Health Fair on August 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Barbara L. Willis Wellness Center, located at 1541 High Street in Portsmouth. The event is organized as part of National Health Center Week, which runs from August 3 to August 9.

The health fair will include various vendors and community resources, as well as entertainment such as a bounce house, face painting, a deejay, food, and prizes. Free bookbags and school supplies will be distributed. On-site services offered include children’s physicals, dental screenings, and immunizations. Registration is available before or during the event; pre-registration is accepted but not required.

“Gratitude and Future Vision,” this year’s theme, reflects the center’s focus on ongoing commitment to health in the community.

Every August, National Health Center Week aims to highlight the work of nearly 1,500 Community Health Centers nationwide. The week is sponsored by the National Association of Community Health Centers and draws attention to the efforts of staff and supporters who help provide healthcare services to over 32 million patients each year in about 16,000 communities.

Hampton Roads Community Health Center offers medical, behavioral health, and dental care for people of all ages. As a federally qualified outpatient primary care practice established in 1995, it serves both insured and uninsured residents throughout Hampton Roads.
